Our Current Opportunities

Adaptive A.I Inc is looking to add the following positions to our team of smart, dedicated engineers and innovators. Our team is highly motivated to complete the ambitious task we have set ourselves: to create practical high-level AGI technology. The work is intense, challenging, and very results oriented - we tend to dream about our work!

All positions are full time with long, but flexible hours, offer excellent potential for personal and professional growth plus very significant financial reward. Preference is given to those who truly want to share in our vision, risk, and reward.

Work environment is friendly, informal, and intellectually rich. We are based in the Los Angeles area and require physical attendance at frequent (several times a week) brainstorming sessions. We are generally unable to assist with visa requirements for non-residents (except Canadians).

Senior-level software engineer

We are looking for a senior level software engineer who can solve complex conceptual and engineering problems, and take a lead in their implementation. You need to have great flexibility, and the ability to acquire competence in novel fields quickly.

We are most interested in your strength as a senior programmer, your ability to learn quickly, and your motivation. Programming responsibilities will run from Windows application development, understanding and implementing complex algorithms, to participation in extending and developing the cognitive aspect of the application and assisting in planning. Programming will require a great deal of novel work, informed by the functional characteristics of our AGI. As such, applicants should be familiar with, or capable of learning about the many different fields that impact AI design, as well as communicating well with the design team. Significant on-the-job training in cognitive aspects of the project will be provided as there is no real previous experience that is exactly applicable.

Key skills and requirements:
  • At least 5 year experience working in industry.
  • Strong software development skills - must have experience developing software using the Microsoft development environment, specifically, .Net and C#. Experience with extreme programming is also desirable.
  • Good communication skills and writing skills, including the ability to write documentation.
  • An interest in novel work on AI, and being a member of a small team doing very difficult, but rewarding, work.
  • High level of intelligence, combined with motivation to work on AGI and learn new skills.
  • Some knowledge in any of these areas is a plus, but not a requirement: cognitive science, neuroscience, experimental and developmental psychology, linguistics, test design and psychometrics, neural networks, statistics.
Compensation: $60,000 - $120,000 in a negotiable stock/cash combination.

Junior-level software engineer

At this time, we are also looking for a junior-level software engineer. Experience with AI is not required. You will learn new technologies and techniques on the job. What we do need is great flexibility, and the ability to acquire competence in novel fields quickly.

We are most interested in your strength as a programmer, your ability to learn quickly, and your motivation. We believe this is one of the most exciting and interesting projects in the world. If you are looking at this as just another job opportunity, you won’t make it. It must be your passion.

Key skills and requirements:
  • At least 1 year experience working in industry.
  • At least 1 year of practical experience programming in C# and/or Java.
  • Good communication skills and writing skills, including the ability to write documentation.
  • An interest in novel work on AI, and being a member of a small team doing very difficult, but rewarding, work. Attitude and ethics are more important than deep technical skills.
Compensation: $30,000 - $60,000 in a negotiable stock/cash combination.

AI Psychologist (Entry-level)

We need a dedicated, hard working person with an excellent understanding of the english language and grammar to help us with our AI software project. A background in linguistics and/or database management is a plus.

This is a fast moving software company but a programming background is not necessarily a requirement. You should have an interest in language as well as basic technical competence with PC software and hardware.

The job will involve interacting with our software, organizing data, preparing automated tests, and maintaining PCs and servers. It involves sometimes tedious review and cleanup of large amounts of data, so patience, discipline, and speed are important. Familiarity with Excel and spreadsheet skills required.

The work requires an ability to focus on details, analyze scenarios, and come to practical conclusions. Personal judgment, good sense, honesty, and the work ethic of the candidate are very important. You will need to learn many of your skills on the job, and will be working in a fast moving environment. There is a lot to do, and a definite possibility of advancement for self motivated, disciplined candidates willing to work long hours.

Anyone desiring a very interesting work day can send their resume. The hiring process would involve an exchange of written questions, a follow up phone interview, an interview, and a trial period.

Compensation: $30,000 to $35,000 package in a negotiable stock/cash combination.
